The countdown to the Houston Coldplay concert now sits at 9 hours and 30 minutes.  Am I excited? YES.  Earlier this year I saw my favorite band Radiohead live and now my second favorite tonight, it has been a good year.  The question that I have found myself asking is, “Is it a good thing that I am praying for Coldplay to put on a good show”? As a former soccer player this story really made me think: would I give up a professional soccer career to follow God where He was calling me?  The simple answer is ‘yes, I would’.  But the more I thought about it my yes became more of a what if…  (more…)

I am not a conspiracy theorist or anything but I have noticed a trend in consumerism that got me thinking.  If 99% of college students are using Macs what is going to happen in a few years when all of those loyal Apple customers become heads of corporate America?  (more…)

The past three months have flown by.  I have had the opportunity to travel far and wide and it has been amazing to witness God’s love blow people away all across the country.  Thinking back on it I got to see homeless women worship together, abused families start over again, and even a frozen fish used as a baseball.  With all of this going on it is easy to say that everything was worth the time and effort that we put in to create the situations for God to work in and through us.  At the time though, I wasn’t so sure.  (more…)

My Boss does all the Work

I was talking this morning with one of our faithful Rebelbase supporters and he said something that is so true.  He asked me how Edge camp went and I said it was great, all we have to do is show up and get students on the bus and God does the rest.  His reply was, “Isn’t it awesome to have a job where your Boss does all the work”.  So many times we try to do God’s work and the funny thing is that it’s God’s work not ours.  We do what He asks of us and He does all of the heavy lifting.  I have complete confidence in saying that I work for the greatest Boss in the world, after all He created it.

Rejected by my Son

The last five months have been full of firsts for my wife and I.  We have experienced labor, being thrown up on, installing car seats and putting together high chairs for the first time. Tonight or this morning (I never know what to call 4 am) I am experiencing a new first and I really don’t like it.  This is the first time since becoming a father that I have been completely unable to comfort my son.

Yes I have made little time for this poor blog in the last four months.  Coincidentally my son is now four months old… maybe that has something to do with it?  This is my public announcement that I shall no longer post less than once a week.  I figure if I write it here someone might hold me accountable.  Due to my tardiness in writing Brian already beat me to this one.
