I'm sorry to ruin your great moment of religion there, but they do this on every show. Now you could say that God blessed you with the tickets, but you said that was because they we're pricey. I'm sorry but I just find it a bit silly to give God all the credit and not Coldplay.

Very good, that analogy really had revelation. And i relate in the area being used for what was actually intended. I came across this church looking up Brooke Fraser. lol Look what happens when you just keep clicking links!

Here's a QUICK question... Did you plan to be a youth growing up; and when you found out God had called you to ministry DID YOU KNOW WHAT SCHOOL YOU WANTED TO ATTEND and LEARN your doctrines/theology/studies/God.

Dude, the feel clean and fresh thing is a lie. I generally feel gross after using those mass market soaps. They always leave a nasty residue on my body. Why else would you smell like the soap all day?

Correction: To the meaning of First is Last and Last is First. It means that Birth is Last and Birth is First. Sorry for the error. God talks in symbols and opposites at times so it takes time to figure out what he is saying. Some of his messages are clearer than others, plus they have multiple meanings.

GREAT POST.
I feel like it is important to note that Jeremy (team PC) wrote this post on a Dell but was initially unable to publish it because his computer froze.
Hmm. Interesting.

The gift things for kids is difficult. We have two kids (5 and 4 years old). We have started setting a monetary limit and telling them that they can have three gifts just like Jesus received three gifts.

My preaching through Advent this year has given me an increasingly bitter taste in my mouth about our modern Christmas traditions. We've personally given to Missions, food pantries, and Operation Christmas Child but I still have this sense that we are trapped in the Madison Avenue version of Christmas.

God help us :-)!

I am still trying to wrap my head around it also but so far I have come up with this: my wife and I are committing to give only gifts that will actually make a change in someone's life, unlike most of the things we give each year. For example I can't remember what I bought a single person for Christmas last year.

WorldVision is doing something interesting where your money purchases either animals or clean water resources for families around the world. We are going to purchase livestock as gifts for those families in honor of our parents and brothers. I am curious to see our families' reactions to this. Hopefully it will be positive because it is such a departure from our normal Christmas giving. The hard part is my three year old nephew for whom I want to buy every toy invented. I haven't come up with anything yet and I think he will be getting some more 'traditional' gifts.

Lastly, I heard a great message last week reminding us to focus on the receiving of the Savior during Advent and not the giving of our time and money. Unfortunately the link above is not yet up on our website but keep looking for Brian's message it is a good one.

JD is a great guy. I'm a pastor here in Wilmore. JD spoke at our church in early November and did an excellent job kicking off a series of worship services focused on the themes of justice and mercy.

Second video is tough to stomach. We've been wrestling with the whole idea of "producing fruit in keeping with repentance" during Advent when so much of it is focused on the materialism of our American culture.

I'm curious, how are you personally responding to the challenge of the second video? That's a question I've been struggling with after watching it and - as I said - one I've been wrestling with during the entirety of Advent.
